Just Enjoy Him: Ramblings of a Mid-Life Mom

I’m many things, among them: a mom to a wonderful 6-year-old boy who was born in Vietnam; a wife; an academic librarian; and a 47-year-old woman. Mostly, I’m a human being struggling and doing her very best in this life — like all of us are.

I’m known here as JustEnjoyHim, Mom2One, or Judy. In my Real Life I’m Judy, of course, or sometimes just Nate’s Mom. Some say you lose your identity when you become a mom, but I say it’s the best identity I’ve had yet.

EDITED TO ADD: From the end of December 2007 to mid-January 2008, I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Breast Cancer, a rare and aggressive form of breast cancer. It had already unfortunately metastasized to the liver. Since that time, much of my blog has been devoted to living with cancer — treatments, the emotional aspects of cancer, etc. It’s not always pretty, but it’s always, always real.
