how appropriate

I just started playing with iGoogle recently and one of the things I have up on my page is a daily scripture verse. Today’s verse really nails it with having my CT scan later today:

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7

Indeed!

Many prayers today Judy…

Thinking of you today.

[...] silent tears fell down my cheeks. I couldn’t help it. I wish I had the faith that this morning’s scripture verse talked about, I wish I could be more faithful, more believing, stronger, more . . . . something. [...]

What a beautiful and comforting passage. My thoughts and prayers are with you today Judy.
Peace, love and light.

It is a beautiful passage.

And you are strong in so many ways!

what a strong passage! i have heard it said that this scripture is rather like a recipe of what elements will come together to add to peace. its worth a look at another translation, i think this one gives a very beutiful twist:

(the message)
4-5Celebrate God all day, every day. I mean, revel in him! . . .
6-7Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.

Oh Lord, please help Judy to be able to know deep, deep peace in the very core of her being. Please let her be able to feel your strength and your comfort throughout the week.

Many, many hugs.

one of my favorite verses. right up there with the serenity prayer.

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I can not change,
the ability to change the things I can
and the wisdom to know the difference.

another big cyberhug should be landing your way right about now!
