Overall I find myself pulling away from a lot of adoption-related blogs lately. I think I plumb overdid it with NaBloPoMo Month and the crank is still with me, God help us all.
That said, I can’t completely pull away in spite of my best efforts. I can be quite the dramatist here, and do the ol’ Pacino bit:
Just when I thought that I was OUT, they pull me back in.
There I go. Always the drama queen, never the actress.
Anyways, on opening records:
Nicole with How do closed records protect my privacy, anyway?
and in response to her post, Joy with Another Question About All This Protection
My response? I think the agencies are the ones who need/want the most protecting and the ones somehow convincing potential- and adoptive parents that they need protection with closed records. Any pa- or aparent who mistakenly thinks that closed records “protects” them is simply wrong. Never mind your child being allowed to be and know where and who they came from, how about, HELLO MEDICAL RECORDS THAT COULD BE LIFE-SAVING; forgive me for yelling but I find that yell-able (yes, that IS a word because I say so!).
Finally, this gem from Suz “Someone Get That Woman A Book Contract”:
Come On Out! on coming out as a first mother.
