I hadn’t identified any themes for this month of NaBloPoMo (that is SOME mouthful!) yet, and I’m not really going to now, actually. Well, sorta. Kinda.
Ummmm, yeah, can I BE any more confusing??!!
OK, here’s the thing. I’m a bit of a rebel so if I say I have to write about something every darn blessed day of the month, I swear I won’t. Yes, even rebellious against myself; how about them apples?! So I’m going to have a sorta/kinda theme, or themes actually. Obviously I’m writing a fair amount about adoption this month which makes sense since I do that anyways, eh? But I’ve sort of noticed a theme kind of emerging, shall we say?, and there’s another one I’d like to attempt maybe every couple of days or so. The emerging one? Why it’s none other than:
A Snark A Day
*sigh* Yeah, I seem to be on quite the Snark lately so I may as well so go with that. Of course, I’m not going to promise one each day, but just as the snark moves me. So be forewarned.
The other? I think I should probably be committed for this one, but I’m feeling brave and/or completely and utterly insane lately so here goes: Confession Is Good For The Soul. These are ways in which I have been and am a much less than perfect adoptive mother. See? I really am insane. I have some good ones too! Well, there’s one that I’ve been kind of working my way towards writing about — working myself towards in my head anyways. I want to try to get that down tomorrow, or sometime soon if I can’t get it down tomorrow. Stay tuned . . . .
I was also wondering if some artistic/graphic arts type is out there who could draw up a super hero of Super Adoptive Mom. Something really campy, funny, comic-book-like. That would be what I’m striving for, but what I am, of course, failing to be.

PLEASE FORWARD FAR AND WIDE!
I talked with a reporter from People Magazine who is preparing a story on recent coercive and unethical adoption practices. She would like to speak with a parent who recently lost their child to adoption coercion or fraud in the United States. She specifically requested to speak with parents who:
* Lost their child very recently, preferably within the past year
* Are willing and able to speak on the record and have their story published in People Magazine
* Have a compelling story that can be fact-checked
* Do not have a history of child abuse or anything else that would have led to them being accused of being “unfit” parents
She is also interested in talking with people who adopted (either domestically or internationally) and later discovered that the child they adopted had been obtained by kidnapping or coercion.
Her deadline is open, but she would like to have an update on Wednesday Nov 7 if possible.
If you or anybody you know might be able to help with this story, let me know and I will pass on your information to the reporter. She is a real reporter using a real People Magazine email and mailing address and phone number.
This could be a great opportunity to increase public awareness of coercive and exploitative adoption practices. Thank you for your help!
