In The Face Of Unspeakable Tragedy

this family has and is showing amazing fortitude and graciousness. My heart breaks for Patty Porter and the rest of the Davis family for the loss of Jessie Davis and her unborn child.

This has happened and is happening where I live. I don’t know any of the participants. Still, it’s an eerie story no matter where you live; it brings it that much closer when it takes place right where you do live.

I continue to be amazed by Jessie’s family. If you really want to see what they’re made of, consider that her mother and one of her sisters not only went to the arraignment today, just two days after Jessie’s body was found, but today those two also held a press conference after the arraignment. Here you can watch the entire press conference.

In other sad news, a house behind us exploded today. Literally exploded. Thank God nobody was hurt. However, as you can imagine, the entire house is destroyed, save the chimney and the garage. I drove by the remains of the house and it’s absolutely chilling.

Someone in the neighborhood is setting up a fund for the family since they have lost everything except for the clothes on their backs.

Oh my god — the house — that’s so scary! Did you guys hear it happen?

I wasn’t home, but Frank and Nate were and they heard the explosion. The house isn’t directly behind ours — it’s behind and probably 2 houses down.

Scary stuff. It makes me want to have the gas company check our lines.

It seems to me you have your lion’s share of heartbreak and tragedy in your area.

Voldemort doesn’t live there, does he?

Voldemort is my boss. He doesn’t live here, but he does work here.

(actually, that’s one of the many names that my one co-worker and I have for him)

wow. that is so frightening. i’m so happy that no one was hurt.

that happened in our town a few years back and a person in the basement died. Nothing but a big hole in the ground really, and just because of a strange chain of events that occurred with the gas lines that I don’t know if there’s any way it could have been prevented.
