Love Thursday: Spring Playdate

Originally uploaded by Mom2One.

This past Sunday, April 22, 2007, Nate and I met his friend Johnathan and his mom, Kim, at a local park for a playdate. The boys had a blast, playing in the sand boxes, running and climbing all over the play structure, throwing balls into the basketball hoops, “playing” football, and swinging on the swings (one of Nate’s favorite park activities). When it was time to go, and we were at the “five more minutes!” time, five minutes stretched into ten minutes and then into I think 15 minutes. Part of that was my fault; who can resist boys mugging for the camera on top of a rock just big enough for the two of them?

Love is Nate and Johnathan, at the end of a very successful playdate. Love is friendship. Love is playing. Love is enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. Love is having so much fun that both boys want to do it again.

And to top it all off, love is having the ice cream truck come by and getting an awesome and colorful popsicle to enjoy!!

How cute is that picture!

Oh yeah. . .I STILL get that little kid excited feeling everytime I see or hear the jingle from the ice-cream truck.

Love that face of Nate’s!

Hope this summer is filled with many picture perfect playdates for your family. :)

Ok, the rainbow pop, blue lips and look on Nate’s face? Priceless. Isn’t the ice cream truck just fabulous? Here’s to many more moments like that this spring and summer! Ya know, that pic might be cute in black and white too — with the popsicle and/or his lips in color. B&Wis the way I see many memories of my childhood summers in my mind’s eye. Here’s to their friendship and the memories they make.

I love the look on your son’s face!! Was he having an ice-cream headache or was the popsicle extra-sour or was a look of pure bliss?!!

A brain freeze moment to be sure! Happy Belated Love Thursday!
